Change the form of narration of the following sentences.
1) " Why are not you wearing chapples ? "I ask one boy.
" My mother did not bring them down from the shelf " , he answers simply.
= I ask one boy why he is not wearing chapples. He answers simply that his mother did not bring them down from the shelf.
2) One day Mukesh told me that he would be motor mechanic and leave Firozabad. I asked him if he knew anything about cars.
= One day Mukesh said to me , " I shall be a motor mechanic and leave Firozabad. "
I said to him , " Do you know anything about cars ? "
3) The lady said to the salesman , " What is the price of this Barbie Doll ? " The salesman said to her, " It is a bit expensive. But I can give it to you at a 20 percent discount. "
= The lady asked the salesman what the price of that Barbie Doll was .
The salesman replied her that it was a bit expensive but he could give that to her at a 20 percent discount.
4) One day Mohan told me that he would become a doctor and leave Assam. I asked him if he knew anything about medicine.
= One day Mohan said to me , " I shall become a doctor and leave Assam. "
I said to him , " Do you know anything about medicine ? "
5) " Where do you go every Saturday ? " I asked the girl . She replied , " I go to the church . "
= I asked the girl where she goes every Saturday. She replied that she goes to the church.
6) The teacher asked Rumi if she had read the Bible. She replied that she hadn't.
= The teacher said to Rumi, " Have you read the Bible ? " She replied, " No, I haven't . "
7) " How long do you have to wait for your train ? " The woman asked me. : About an hour . " I replied.
= The woman asked me how long I had to wait for my train. I replied that about an hour.
8) I asked Ranjan where Neena lived. Ranjan replied regretfully that he did not know.
= I said to Ranjan , " Where does Neena lived ? " Ranjan said, " Sorry , I do not know . "
9) The boy said to the teacher , " Sir, I am weak in English and seek your advice. " " Read the text thoroughly and try to express your ideas in simple correct English. " said the teacher.
= The boy told the teachers with honor that he was very weak in English and sought his advice. The teacher advised him to read the text thoroughly and try to express his ideas in simple correct English.
10) My friend told me that he was very thirsty and requested me to give him a glass of water.
= My friend said to me, " I am very thirsty . Please give me a glass of water. "
11) The speaker said, " I thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for giving me a kind hearing. When I arrived here yesterday I did not believe that I might meet so large a gathering. "
= The speaker thanked the ladies and gentlemen for giving him a kind hearing and he told them that when he had arrived the previous day he had not believed that he might meet so large a gathering .
12) His mother exclaimed with sorrow that she had not a bit of bread to give him and that he had eaten up all the provisions she had in the house the previous day.
= His mother said, " What a pity ! I have not a bit of bread to give you. You ate up all the provision I had in the house yesterday. "
13) Reena said to the boy, " What's the matter ? Why are you crying ? Be cheerful. "
= Reena asked the boy what the matter was and why he was crying and told him to be cheerful.
14) The customer inquired if he could get a garden-roller in that shop. The assistant respectfully replied that he would get it in the hardware department.
= The customer said , " Can I get a garden-roller in this shop ? " The assistant said, " Sir, you will get it in the hardware department. "
15) Alexander said to Porus, " How do you desire to be treated ? " He answered , " Like a king. "
= Alexander asked Porus how he desired to be treated. He answered that like a king.
16) The boys exclaimed in joy that they had all passed the test and that they would celebrate their success the next day
= The boy said , " Hurrah ! We have all passed the test. We are going to celebrate our success tomorrow. "
17) Why aren't you wearing shoes ? " the teacher asks the girl. "My mother did not bring them down from the shelf " She answers simply
= The teacher asks the girl why she is not wearing shoes. She answers simply that her mother did not bring them down from the shelf.
18) I asked my friend why he looked so sad. He replied that his father was seriously ill and there was little hope for his recovery.
= I said to my friend, " Why you look so sad?" He said, " My father is seriously ill and there is little hope of his recovery."
19. My friend said to me, " I am very thirsty. Please give me a glass of water".
= My friend told me that he was very thirsty and requested me to give him a glass of water.
20. Reena asked the boy what the matter was and why he was crying. She also advised him to be cheerful.
= Reena said to the boy , " What is the matter. Why are you crying. Be cheerful."
21. The gentleman said to the salesman, " What is the price of this dictionary ? " The salesman said to him, " It is a bit expensive. But I can give it to you at a 10 per cent discount."
= The gentleman asked the salesman what the price of that dictionary was
. The salesman replied that it was a bit expensive. But he could give that to him at a 10 percent discount.
22. I asked the old lady where Professor Sarma lived. The lady replied regretfully that she didn't know.
= I said to the old lady, " Where does Professor Sarma live? " The lady said, " Sorry, I do not know . "
22. The girl said to the teacher, " Madam, I am weak in English and seek your advice." The teacher said, " Read the text thoroughly and try to express your ideas in simple correct English. "
= Addressing the teacher as madam the girl told him that she was very weak in English and sought his advice. The teacher advised to read the text thoroughly and try to express her ideas in simple correct English.
23. " Let's buy some milk and prepare milkshake for us", said Aruna. " The milkshake we're drinking now is utterly tasteless."
= Aruna suggested that we should buy some milk and prepare milkshake for us and told that the milkshake we were drinking then was utterly tasteless.
24) The doctor told the woman that she was suffering from diabetes and advised her not to take sugar in her tea.
= The doctor said to the woman, " You are suffering from fever. Don't take sugar in your tea. "
25) She requested the doctor to save her mother and told him that she was ready to pay him as much as he wanted. The doctor assured her that he would try his best.
= She said to the doctor, " Please save my mother. I am ready to pay you as much as you want." The doctor said, " I will try my best ."
